前回まで、色が人に与える印象についてお話ししてきました。
色やその組み合わせによって、人に様々な影響があるのは確かですが、
その前に検討しておきたい問題があります。
それは、人間の色認識についての問題です。

個人差もさることながら、「色覚障害」「弱視」の方は大勢おられます。
色覚障害の場合、日本の成人男性の２０人に１人（男性約５％、女性約０．２％）いるとされています。
となると、日本の男性の約３００万人近くが色覚障害を持っていることになるのです。
色覚障害の場合、配色によっては、文字を読み取ることが難しくなります。

また、団塊の世代が６５歳以上に達する２０１５年には、４人に１人が高齢者となります。
これからはインターネット使用に馴染みのある世代が高齢になっていくのです。
高齢になるにつれ、人間の色覚には変化が起こります。
加齢とともに黄−青は若年者よりも見にくくなるとされ、
全体的に暗く褐色がかった視界になるとされています。
そのため、高齢者の色覚の変化に対応したホームページ作りが今、必要とされています。

日本では、ウェブコンテンツを利用する際のアクセシビリティ（＝人々の使用のしやすさ）が
2004年6月、ＪＩＳ（日本工業規格）となりました。

高齢者・障害者等配慮設計指針−情報通信における機器，
ソフトウェア及びサービス−第３部：ウェブコンテンツ）
官公庁のサイトの多くはアクセシビリティの見直しがなされ、
現在では多くの企業のホームページがアクセシビリティに配慮した作りとなってきています。

アクセシビリティに配慮している企業例：

アクセシビリティに配慮すると、配色や文字の大きさ、配置などが非常に重要となってきます。
これらに注意を払うということは、必ずしもホームページの見た目が悪くなるということではありません。
